The science inside Cornish Bloom

Skincare grown, not picked

Better for skin. Kinder to wild places.

How we answer the problems with how a lot of skincare is made.

  1. The problem

    Wild moss can't be picked

Many mosses grow slowly and are protected. Wild moss also soaks up pollution from the air, so it isn't clean enough for skin.

    Our answer

Grown from moss cells in a lab

MossCellTec No. 1 is grown from moss cells in a bioreactor. No wild moss is harvested, and every batch is clean and consistent.

  2. The problem

    Ingredient lists you can't read

Vague claims and hidden blends make it hard to know what you are putting on your skin.

    Our answer

    Every ingredient disclosed

The full ingredient list for every mist is on its product page, and our FAQ explains what each one does.

  3. The problem

    Testing on animals

Some beauty brands still use animal-derived ingredients or sell where animal testing is required.

    Our answer

    Vegan and cruelty-free

Every mor & meadow formula is vegan and cruelty-free.

  4. The problem

    Shelves of half-used products

Ten-step routines mean more bottles, more packaging and more products you never finish.

    Our answer

    One mist, several jobs

Bloom hydrates, strengthens your barrier and supports resilience in one step. A 100ml bottle lasts 8 to 12 weeks.

Why moss

A plant built for harsh places

Mosses were among the first plants to live on land. They survive drought, cold, salt and strong sun, and recover when conditions improve.

That is the same resilience we want for skin on an exposed coastline. MossCellTec No. 1 captures it from moss cells grown in a lab, then Hugo pairs it with Tremella mushroom and Cornish seaweeds in Bloom.

It is how we work across the range: study how living things cope with pressure, then use the most responsible way to bring that into a bottle.

Hugo, Sophie and Freddie on the Cornish coast

Founded in Falmouth

Science, scent and art from the Cornish coast

Mor & Meadow was founded in Falmouth in May 2026 by Hugo, Sophie and Freddie, with a wider collective of growers, artists and botanists behind them.

Hugo is a botanical scientist and Chelsea Flower Show winner. Sophie is an acclaimed Cornish artist and designer. Freddie's background is fragrance, most recently as Managing Director of Czech & Speake London.

Together they study how Cornwall's plants, fungi and seaweeds survive salt, wind and shifting tides, and bottle those adaptations as simple, multifunctional mists.

Questions & answers

What is MossCellTec No. 1?

An active ingredient made by Swiss company Mibelle Biochemistry from the cells of a moss called Physcomitrella patens. The cells are grown in a bioreactor rather than picked from the wild.

Is it natural?

It starts with real moss cells, grown in controlled conditions. That keeps every batch clean and consistent, and means wild moss is left where it grows.

Are the study results for Bloom?

No. The results come from the ingredient maker's own placebo-controlled study of MossCellTec No. 1. We chose it because of that evidence, and Bloom pairs it with other hydrating and barrier-supporting actives.

How do I use a face mist?

Hold the bottle a hand's width from your face, close your eyes and mist two or three times onto clean skin. Use Bloom in the morning and Shade in the evening, on its own or before your moisturiser.

What is the difference between Bloom and Shade?

Bloom is the morning mist: it hydrates, brightens and strengthens the skin barrier for the day ahead. Shade is the evening mist: it calms, balances and restores while you sleep.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. Both mists are cold-processed, vegan and cruelty-free, and built around low-irritation actives. If your skin is very reactive, patch test on the inside of your wrist first. The full ingredient list is on each product page.

How long does a 100ml bottle last?

Used twice a day, a 100ml mist lasts 8 to 12 weeks.

Where is it made?

Mor & Meadow is designed and formulated in Cornwall, and orders ship from Cornwall.
